BIO
Marsse Tropical Timber is a family business run by Mario Sebastian and his children. They are committed to developing sustainable tree plantations where the need for wood is met in harmony with nature.
Currently, only 7% of the natural forest in the Philippines remains, making it the fourth most threatened forest hot spots in the world. To help address this, Mario and his children began planting seedlings in 1992 to re-envision the way trees are harvested. Currently, Marsse now has sustainable tree plantations with over 125,000 trees devoted to promoting ecological balance in the region and the world. Committed to job opportunities and education, Marsse hires workers from local communities and provides seminars for farmers
on sustainable tree farming practices across the Philippines.
